Capital College appoints Board Member as CEO

Capital College is delighted to announce the appointment of one of its Company Directors, Nicholas Read, as Chief Executive, effective today.

Nic Read

Nic will continue to serve on the Board with fellow directors Anthony Mahler and Mark Bender. He has been a key member of Capital College’s executive leadership team for two years and will take over as CEO from Robyn Bloomfield, who is leaving the college to pursue other opportunities.

“It’s an interesting time for education in Australia”, says Read. “International students are looking for certainty, quality and value in an industry where all three don’t always come together. I’m pleased to see Capital College expanding locations, building our talent, and offering pricing and articulation pathways that give students more control over their future. Our students, faculty, support teams and partners have been key to past successes, and I look forward to working with all of them on an exciting new phase.”

Before joining the Board and his appointment as Capital College CEO, Nic was Visiting Professor of Strategic Operations Management and Business Negotiation at Kingston University in London and the Russian Presidential Academy (RANEPA) in Moscow. He has lectured in Business at Fudan University in Beijing, Shanghai International Studies University, and the British Academy of Management. His ideas on business, technology and education have been published in peer-reviewed journals and media worldwide.

Nic previously served as executive director over a global Ernst & Young practice based in Sydney and has advised Fortune 100 companies and start-ups on achieving faster-than-market revenue growth.

His career in research, education, management and strategy consulting has garnered numerous awards, including the gold Business Oscar and Global Education Leader of the Year. His business training courses are in syndication in 40 countries, and his bestselling books on sales and management have been published worldwide by McGraw-Hill Education.
